STEP is a community-led organisation working for the sustainable regeneration
of the Stocksbridge area. It is an independent, not-for-profit registered
charity, committed to the involvement of local people in regeneration.
As a foundation stone for local regeneration, STEP aims to build the capacity of the local community and puts people at the heart of what it does.
STEP recognises that regeneration is not purely economic and that only
a comprehensive integrated approach is likely to succeed in the long term.
STEP is seeking to build an asset base that will allow it to generate
an income, which in the long term will enable it to become financially
independent and help sustain its activities.
