
What we offer
All IT and ICT courses are tutor-led by qualified and experienced tutors. Programmes of learning are delivered in an easy-to-understand way with an emphasis on both individual and team practical work in a relaxed and supportive environment. Handouts are provided on all topics covered.
The training provision at STEP was judged to be ‘Outstanding’ in the 2007.
Who are Tutor-led Courses for?
• Those who haven’t undertaken any formal learning for a number of years and therefore need the guidance and encouragement of an experienced tutor
• Those who wish to study for a formal qualification
• Those who wish to gain new skills to enhance their job prospects
• Those who want to pursue a new hobby/interest
• Those who enjoy meeting and socialising with others and wish to learn in a relaxed and friendly environment
• Those who want to gain new skills in order to be able to support children/grandchildren or want to be able to offer ICT support to a social group they are involved in.

- Basic Computer Skills – an introduction to the basics of using a computer
- Computer Crafts – making gift cards, gift tags, seating plans etc using Microsoft Publisher and Word
- How to use eBay – buying and selling on eBay
- Internet & e-mail – how to send and receive e-mail and search for information on the Internet
- Internet Security – how to download and install free Internet security software
- Introduction to Desktop Publishing – the basics of using Microsoft Publisher
- Introduction to Photo Enhancing – how to download digital photos from a camera; improving digital photos
- IT Clubs – various topics including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher skills
- Online Services – understanding public services, shopping and banking online
- Online Jobs courses – understanding job hunting online; interview skills
- Understanding your PC – basic maintenance skills
- Word Advanced – creating templates; mailmerge; forms; macros etc
